    Salman Khan starrer Dabangg became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. It had created a brand on itself and Chulbbul Pandey bece a style icon, with how he kept his shades and moved in the most unconventional yet relatable way. But what can come as a shock is the fact that the film went way overbudget during its making, so much that Salman Khan had not been paid fully till the film released. This information was shared by none other than Salman's brother Arbaaz Khan, who also produced the film.

    Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Arbaaz Khan revealed, “Salman’s market around that time, I mean honestly, we have Rs 30 crores to make the movie, we ended up making the film in 49 crores, everything (including) print publicity. So, there was no one really making the money, there’s no money on the table coming. When the movie became a hit, whatever we were expecting, it all came back, all the accolades came, all the money came and then, of course, Dabangg 2 came and followed up with Dabangg 3.”

    Arbaaz Khan also revealed that both he and Salman Khan did not make any money while making the film, but ended up doing so after the film's release. It became a massive hit and collected 141.25 crores INR. This anecdote is also proof that if something is made wholeheartedly, with passion, it always pays off. Arbaaz also credited the crew for how the film turned out to be- including music director, director and the technicians.
