Sara on her Atrangi Re co-stars: ‘I call Akshay sir Thalaivar of the North; Dhanush sir knows the camera like I know water’

When most of us watched the trailer of Atrangi Re , we were reminded of the same spark that Sara Ali Khan had in her debut film Kedarnath . Her energy looked raw and fresh as she left us intrigued to know more about her character Rinku. Well, another highlight of this Aanand L Rai directorial, which piqued our interest, is the unexpected casting! Along with Rinku, we were introduced to her husband Vishu, portrayed by South superstar Dhanush , and her lover Sajjad, aka Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar . We couldn’t have asked for a more quirky dream team than this!

Well, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Sara opened up about her experience of working with her co-stars. She shared, “It was insane. I call Akshay sir Thalaivar of the North, because he has so much energy, spontaneity, and spark. Dhanush sir is an inspiration, an institution in acting. He’s a National Award-winning actor, he knows the camera like I know water. There was not a single day on set, where apart from being fun and creatively rewarding, it wasn’t a constant learning. If it was a seven to seven shift, and I had a pack up after lunch, I wouldn’t go back. I would sit and watch on the monitor, takes of Dhanush sir.”

Their social media posts featuring the fun times they had behind the scenes on the set of Atrangi Re are proof that they truly enjoyed making this musical romantic drama.
