Selfiee day 3 box office collection: Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's movie falls flat completely in the first weekend

The Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee was released at the box office on February 24 and since then all eyes were on the box office collections of the same. But alas, it seems that the flop streak of Akshay’s films is far from over since the movie failed miserably to perform at the box office. Now, even on its third day, the movie has shown no growth in terms of collections.

According to a news report in India Today, the movie only earned Rs 3.90 crore on its third day (February 26). This has resulted in the total collection of the Akshay Kumar film being Rs 10.25 crore. The report further added that the film had a Sunday occupancy of 13.47%.

According to an earlier report in Sacnilk.com, the film collected approximately Rs 3.30 crore on its second day, while the film made lackluster earnings of Rs 2.55 crore on its opening day. A news report in Box Office India also stated that the fate of Selfiee is now doomed as a flop and the primary reason for the same being that the content of the movie has no reach. The publication was quoted as stating, “The collections hardly matter as the film just can't recover from the sort of start it got. The question is how can an Akshay Kumar film have such low numbers and it’s pretty simple the content has no reach. The likes of Bachchan Pandey, Samraat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, and Ram Setu however good or bad were always going to get some initial audience in the core states while here as soon as the trailer hit you know UP, MP, Gujarat, etc were not coming."

Meanwhile, Selfiee also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead roles. It has been directed by Raj Mehta. It is the Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam movie Driving License.
