Selfiee song Main Khiladi: Akshay Kumar & Emraan Hashmi’s chemistry is the highlight of this otherwise average remix

One major reason why we all are so excited for the upcoming film Selfiee is the fresh new star cast. For the first time ever, Khiladi Akshay Kumar will be sharing the screen with the handsome Emraan Hashmi , alongside Bollywood beauties Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha . Of course the premise is also intriguing, but we are definitely looking forward to this never seen before jodi more than anything else. Well, the first track of Selfiee was launched today by the makers. Titled Main Khiladi , the song is a remake of Akshay and Saif Ali Khan’s Main Khiladi Tu Anari, which was the title track of their iconic 1994 action comedy.

The original track was helmed by Udit Narayan and Abhijeet Bhattacharya with composition by Anu Malik. Well, the credit for this recreation goes to Tanishk Bagchi. The foot tapping music and the lyrics are practically the same, with a few new additions which are average. But the highlight is Emraan and Akshay’s on-screen chemistry. It will set fire to your screens! They fit perfectly together and bring life to the lyrics ‘main khiladi tu anari’ with their expressions. Emraan and Akshay’s energy is also off the charts, with Diana and Nushrratt adding a big splash of glamor with their killer moves.

The music video is a fun watch, with shiny outfits and groovy dance moves which make you want to join the actors on the floor. But apart from that, this track is just an average remix. It’s alright, but nothing compared to the original iconic number. Nevertheless, we have extremely high expectations from the film. Starring Akshay as Superstar Vijay Kumar and Emraan as his diehard fan and RTO Inspector Om Prakash Aggarwal, Selfiee is all set to arrive on the silver screen on 24th February.
