    India’s original Shaktimaan Mukesh Khanna has shared the promo of the upcoming Shaktimaan movie trilogy and called it his big surprise for his followers. The actor said that he had promised his followers a major announcement once he hit 1 million followers on his YouTube channel and shared the promo of the Shaktimaan movie which he is producing through his banner Bheeshm International in collaboration with Sony Pictures.

    Still recognized as Shaktimaan, the desi superhero who was a sensation among young viewers in the 90’s, Mukesh Khanna has been trying for some time now to bring back the series. In 2017, he had announced his plans for bringing back Shaktimaan as TV series which he wanted a big channel to pick up but having been patient with his plans Shaktimaan is getting a much bigger comeback.

    Mukesh Khanna had conceptualized the superhero series in 1981 and was able to breathe life into the project in 1997 with an ambitious goal. The show ran for 450 episodes and in 2019 Mukesh Khanna had revealed that Shatikmaan had eventually started to go in losses in 2004 due to the high broadcasting charges which is why he chose to shut it down.

    Sony Pictures which is known to be the force behind the Spider-Man movies has announced a movie trilogy on Shaktimaan which a swanky teaser on Thursday. However, Mukesh Khanna will no longer be playing the superhero a ‘major superstar’ is promised to be stepping into his shoes with a big director being on boarded to direct movie franchise.

    Mukesh Khanna played Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri in Shaktimaan who is a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz and has superhero alter ego. He was shown to have gained powers through meditation and draws from the five natural elements Space, Earth, Air, Fire, Water.

    Shaktimaan remains one of the most iconic superhero figures in the Indian entertainment space which admittedly has seen very few successes in the genre.
