Shazam! Fury of the Gods hit theaters worldwide yesterday and the Rotten Tomatoes score for the sequel is finally out.

It should come as no surprise that the movie currently holds a 56% critics score and an 84% audience score on the site.

The previous DC entry Black Adam which starred Dwayne Johnson in the lead also had a similar divide between critics and audiences.

Currently, the movie is predicted to gross somewhere between 80-85 of which 35-40 million is expected collection from the US markets, so it remains to be seen how the poor critical reception will affect the movie in the long run.

Considering that the movie has a budget of 125 million dollars these numbers are impressive and factoring in the positive reaction from audiences the film could exceed expectations.

2019s Shazam is currently the second-best-rated movie in the DCEU and managed to gross over 350 million dollars worldwide.

Recently director David S. Sandberg said that there is a strong possibility of Shazam being a part of the new DCU lineup but it also depends on the success of Shazam 2.

Recently it was confirmed that Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman in Shazam 2 and will appear in the movie's post-credit scene.

Wonder Woman has the most direct connection of any superhero to the Olympians and their parents the Titans, after all, she is the daughter of Zeus.

In the sequel, Shazam will take on the Titans Hespera and her sister Kalypso played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu respectively.

The Titans had been imprisoned for centuries but have freed themselves and now are after Billy Batson and the rest of his superhero family to steal their powers and take over the world.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou, and Helen Mirren.

SHAZAM! Fury of the Gods is directed by David F. Sandberg and is currently running in theaters.
