Shehzada saved, theatrical release of Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi cancelled

The theatrical release of A llu Arjun ’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in Hindi was on the cards this Republic Day but, Manish Shah of Goldmine Telefilms who holds the rights to the Hindi dub of the film has now been called it off.

The release of the Hindi dub of this 2020 Telugu film was planned to cash in on Allu Arjun’s recently gained popularity in the Hindi belt after his film Pusha: The Rise emerged as a blockbuster. The major holiday January 26 which earlier had two films opening at the box office is also empty and could have helped Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo attach audiences.

However, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is being remade in Hindi as Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon . The remake is being backed by Allu Aravind who also produced the Telugu original and the release of the Hindi dub in cinemas ahead of the remake could have seriously hurt the Shehzada which is currently under production.

Allu Aravind personally arrived in Mumbai to meet with Manish Shah to prevent the release of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi and save Shehzada and after the meeting they seem to have mutually agreed to stall the release.

A statement from Goldmine Telefilms read, “To media & Trade, Manish Shah promoter of Goldmines along with the makers of Shehzada have jointly decided to withdraw the theatrical release of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi version. Shehzada makers are thankful to Manish Shah for agreeing to the same.”

Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada went on floors in the second half of 2021 and is still a long way from completion. The movie also stars Manish Koirala and Paresh Rawal .

Manish Shah not only holds the rights of the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi version but also has brought the satellite rights to Shehzada according to a few reports.
