Siddhant Chaturvedi recalls uncle's reaction to his liplocks with Deepika Padukone in Gehraiyaan: "Sparsh hua hai?"

Gehraiyaan has been making headlines right from the moment it was announced. However, with the release of the teaser and the trailer, people just could not stop talking about the intimate scenes shared between Siddhant Chaturvedi and Deepika Padukone . Their sequences became a talking point. And such was the impact that Siddhant Chaturvedi's 'chachaji' even called his father to enquire if the kisses really happened!

In a video shared by Kapil Sharma , from his show The Kapil Sharma Show , Siddhant can be seen recalling how his uncle reacted when the trailer of the film came out. He said, “Jab film ka trailer aaya toh gaon se phone aaya chachaji ka… Woh keh rahe the sparsh hua hai ya beech mein sheesha rakha gaya hai? Papa ne bola, ‘Yaar iska jawaab main kya doon?’ (When the trailer came out, my paternal uncle called from our village… He wanted to know if our lips actually touched or if there was a glass pane between us. My father did not know how to answer the question).”

We can imagine how shocked, and scandalised maybe, 'chahchaji' must have been to see him do such bold scenes in front of the camera! Gehraiyaan, helmed by Shakun Batra , shows how Deepika Padukone's character gets attracted to her cousin Tia's boyfriend, despite being in a relationship with Dhairya Karwa 's character. Talking about the film, Shakun had told PTI, “Infidelity because I feel for the last so many years the idea of romance and love has been oversimplified in Hindi films and it did not feel authentic to me, it did not speak to me. I just wanted to zoom out and start seeing more complexity in the idea of love. I wanted to go to a place that did not seem so black and white. I wanted to explore the greys.” Have you watched Gehraiyaan? Did you like it?
