Silambarasan's 'Pathu Thala' shows no signs of slowing down as the movie crosses 42 crores at the box office.

    Despite a slow start, the gangster movie is going on all cylinders.

    Silmabarsan's gangster flick Pathu Thala has grossed an amazing 42 crores at the box office at the end of four days, what makes this impressive is the fact that the movie has a slow opening when it hit theaters last week.

    Despite mixed reviews, the movie has seen a steady increase in revenue thanks mainly due to the massive support of the actor's fans.

    Pathu Thala is directed by Obeli N. Krishna. The movie is a gangster flick and Simbu is sharing the big screen with Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

    The movie is a remake of the 2017 Kannada movie Mufi, which starred Shiva Rajkumar and Sriimurali. The movie follows the journey of an undercover police officer and his mission to bring down a notorious crime boss.

    The music for the movie is composed by A.R Rahman and the first two singles from the movie have also been released and have met with positive reactions from fans.

    Pathu Thala is A.R. Rahman's fifth collaboration with Silambarasan, their last movie together was the superhit 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu'.

    The first single is 'Ninaivirukka' which has been sung by A R Ameen and Shakthisree Gopalan with lyrics by Kabilan. The second 'Namma Satham' and sung by A.R. Rahman and Yogi Sekar with lyrics by Vivek.

    Currently Simbu is preparing for his next project STR 48, the movie will be Silambarasan's first collaboration with director Desingh Periyasamy. The movie is expected to begin filming soon and the project will have the actor play a double role.

    The shooting for STR49 is expected to start in July and the actor is currently in Bangkok where he undergoing martial arts training for the role.

    The project is rumored to be a period drama and is said to have a budget of 100 crores making it one of the biggest projects in the actor's career.
