Sonam Kapoor on her pregnancy phase, says ‘Nobody tell you how hard it is’

Sonam Kapoor is expecting her first child with her husband Anand Ahuja . A few days ago, the couple announced their pregnancy by sharing some aesthetic photoshoot pictures. Now, in the latest media interaction, the soon-to-be mommy spoke about her pregnancy phase.

Talking to Vogue about the same, Sonam Kapoor said, “It's been tough—nobody tells you how hard it is. Everybody tells you how wonderful it is.” The Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga actress also stressed the necessity of the expecting mothers to keep themselves healthy.

The actress said that if one wishes to have a new life inside them, they should first learn to respect their own. Apart from this, Sonam Kapoor also spoke about the representation of female actresses in Bollywood. The I Hate Luv Storys actress said how women are always made to ‘cater to the male gaze’ on the big screen or the social media.

Sonam said, “We are always catering to the male gaze, which is disappointing. “We are always catering to the male gaze, which is disappointing.” She added, “If I put a sexy picture of myself on Instagram, it'll get way more likes than the one where I'm wearing a pretty dress.” For the unversed, the Dilli 6 actress had also got some flak for sharing her pictures in a black bodysuit attire while announcing her pregnancy.
