    The latest installment in the MCU's Spider-Man franchise has crossed one billion dollors in a record of 12 days tying with Star Wars: The Force Awakens

    Spider-Man: No Way Home crosses $1 billion in a record 12 days

    In less than two weeks of its release, the latest Spider-Man film No Way Home has entered the billion-dollar club. In 12 days the movie earned over $1 billion much like the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens which took the same time to reach the milestone.

    The Tom Holland starrer opened to great reviews and a warm reception from fans. Only two other movies Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game have reached this milestone faster than No Way Home. Avengers Endgame crossed the billion dollar mark in five days while Infinity War took 11 days to get there. Considering that Spider-Man: No Way Home opened in the middle of a global pandemic makes this achievement even better.

    The movie grossed over $80 million in North America during the Christmas weekend and considering the stiff competition the movie faced from Sing 2 and Matrix: Resurrections. The fourth installment in the Matrix was not well received by critics and fans and only grossed over $60 million globally.

    Not just the U.S. Spider Man: No Way Home has been well received globally. The billion dollar milestone is also big for the film as despite have not released China, one of the biggest film markets, the film got there in less than two weeks. 

    In India too, the movie is close to crossing the Rs. 200 crores mark with the current collections standing at Rs.179.37 crores. The film continues it momentum in Indian cinemas despite competition from big releases like Pushpa: The Rise and more recently the bollywood biggie ' 83

    The cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch , Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina in the lead roles.
