Vivek Agnihotri ’s The Kashmir Files which was released in the theatres on March 11, experienced a golden run at the box office. The movie has crossed Rs 200 crore at the box office and is still going strong. However, now all eyes are on the competition that it will be facing with SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead. It seems like, the epic period drama has already proved to be a tough rival for the Anupam Kher starrer as it has surpassed the latter in the IMDB ratings. However, RRR has still not defeated a movie that was released on the post-pandemic scenario but still emerged triumphant. We are talking about none other than the Suriya starrer Jai Bhim .

RRR got an IMDB rating of 9.2 within a very short time of its release. While The Kashmir Files had garnered a rating of 9.9. But soon, the Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty starrer’s rating went down to 8.3. This only means that RRR had surpassed The Kashmir Files’ rating on the very first day of its release. However, the period film has still not managed to cross the rating of Jai Bhim.

The movie that was released on November 2, 2021, still enjoys a whopping rating of 9.4. The movie was helmed by TJ Gnanavel. It also starred Lijomol Jose, K Manikandan, Guru Somasundaram and Rajisha Vijayan in the lead roles. It became the first Indian film to achieve a rating of 9.4 in IMDB.

It will be interesting to see whether RRR manages to cross the Tamil legal drama in terms of the IMDB ratings. Though all the three movies belong to very different subjects, they all represent a strong message. While RRR showcases the story of two courageous freedom fighters, The Kashmir Files revolves around the gruesome exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits in the year 1990. On the other hand, Jai Bhim was a hard-hitting tale of how a marginalized society is tormented by the police.
