Sun Pictures released a deleted scene from Dhanush's 'Vaathi' on the day of its Netflix debut

    The deleted clip from Vaathi has been released to mark the movie's Netflix debut today. In the minute-long clip, we see a student thank Dhanush 's character for his guidance.

    The movie is a period drama that has grossed over 100 crores at the box office, the film was directed by Venky Atluri and is bilingual having been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

    The Telugu version of the movie title Sir received positive reactions from audiences and critics alike and grossed over 50 crores during its theatrical run.

    The movie's cast includes Dhanush, Samyuktha, P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, and Hyper Aadi.

    Dhanush played the idealistic college professor Balamurugan, who wants to reform the education system. The movie was released last month and received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics.

    Composer G V Prakash is handling the music for the movie with Dinesh Krishnan handling the camera and editing being helmed by Naveen Nooli.

    Vaathi is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banner Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas and Srikara Studios.

    Dhanush has a lot line up this year, he will be starting in the upcoming period-action movie Captain Miller. The movie will mark Matheswaran's directorial debut and his first collaboration with the actor.

    The movie will also be the first time Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar will work alongside Dhanush, making Captain Miller his second Tamil movie after Rajinikanth's Jailer.

    Dhanush will also be donning the director's cap for the second time this year after the 2017 movie Pa Paandi. The movie will be produced by Dhanush's own production company Wunderbar Films in association with Sun Picture.

    The project is still in the early stages of pre-production under the working title 'D50'. the cast of the movie includes Dushara Vijayan is known for her roles in movies like the 2021 sports drama Sarpatta Parambarai and joining her are Vishnu Vishal and SJ Suryah.

    Vaathi is currently streaming on Netflix.
