Suriya will be seen in 13 never before seen avatars in 'Suriya 42'

Suriya 42 has officially started production, with the team having completed a shot schedule in Chennai last week.

The movie directed by Siva will be Suriya's first collaboration with the director. who revealed that the actor will be sporting 13 different in the movie.

The movie is a period drama and Suriya will be playing the role of five different characters in the movie. This will beat the actor's previous record of 10 different looks which he set in his 2009 movie 'Ayan'.

Bollywood actress Disha Patani will be playing the lead opposite Suriya in Suriya 42 , making her Tamil debut.

Director Siva's last movie was the 2021 action movie 'Annaatthe', which starred superstar Rajinikanth in the lead despite mixed reviews from critics the movie was a massive success at the box office and grossed over 250 crores worldwide.

Suriya 42 will be the first-period drama movie the director will attempt, n doubt that he wants to recreate the box-office success of his last venture.

As for Suriya 2022 was a good year for the actor his movie 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' which was directed by Pandiraj was a box-office hit despite mixed reviews from critics.

However, the real highlight of the year was Suriya's cameo as druglord Rolex in the crime-thriller Vikram which starred Kamal Hassan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil.

Vikram is the second installment in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's cinematic universe after 2019s Kaithi which starred Suriya's younger brother Karthi in the lead.

Suriya will play a major role in the upcoming installments in the franchise, with Lokesh's recent announcement that a spinoff movie about Rolex with Suriya in the lead was already in the works.

Suriya will also have a cameo in the upcoming Hindi remake of his 2020 movie Soorarai Pottru, which was a critical and commercial success and won five National Awards including Best Actor for Suriya.
