Thalaivar 171 - Rajinikanth's project with Lokesh Kanagaraj to be officially announced soon

    Thalaiver 171 will be getting an official announcement soon as sources close to the movie have revealed that an early photoshoot for the movie was recently completed.

    Initially, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj were supposed to work on a project together after the release of Vikram but the project was put on hold, but recently the director and actor have met to work out the details of the project.

    With the recent announcements that the Kaithi sequel will not be going into production soon due to Karthi's other commitments, it looks like Thalaivat 171 will be the director's next project.

    This also brings up the question of whether or not Thalaivar 171 will be a part of the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe ( LCU ) but without any details about the project, for now, we can only speculate.

    Currently, the director is busy with Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay, and the third installment in the LCU, after Kaithi and Vikram.

    Leo is currently being filed in Chennai and is expected to wrap up filming this May. The movie is produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banner Seven Screen Studio.

    The full cast of the movie includes Vijay, Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Manobala, and Janany Kunaseelan.

    Leo will hit theaters worldwide on 20 October 2023.

    As for Rajinikanth, the actor is currently working on the upcoming action flick Jailer . The movie will be the first time Rajinikanth will be working with director Nelson, The director's last movie was 'Beast' which starred Vijay in the lead role.

    The movie also marks the Tamil debut of Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar and the first collaboration with Rajinikanth.

    In Jailer Rajinikanth plays the role of a Muthuvel Pandian the warden of the notorious prison. However, the plot of the movie remains under wraps.

    The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan.

    Jailer will be dubbed in all major Indian languages and is expected to hit theaters worldwide in August 10,2023.
