Sharing the exciting announcement, the makers revealed that the first-look poster of Vijay's 69th film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, will be unveiled on January 26, 2025, on the special occasion of Republic Day.

    The announcement post featured a video montage of all the films of Thalapathy Vijay from his glorious career spanning three decades. For the unversed, Thalapathy 69 marks Vijay's last film before he bids adieu to Tamil cinema to pursue his dream political career.

    Thalapathy 69 will star Vijay in the lead role, with Bobby Deol portraying the antagonist. Pooja Hegde, who starred alongside Vijay in Beast, reunites with him for this final film and will play his love interest. The supporting cast features Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, Narain, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Monisha Blessy, and more. On the technical side, cinematography is by Sathyan Sooryan, and editing is by Pradeep E. Ragav. Produced by Karnataka-based KVN Productions in their Kollywood debut, the film is set to release in theaters in October 2025 across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
