Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna get thunderous applause from the crowd at the 'Varisu' audio launch

The audio launch for Thalapathy Vijay 's 66th movie ' Varisu ' was held last night in Chennai with a massive audience.

The actor like always gave a great speech which electrified the crowd. Vijay attended the function alongside his co-star Rashmika Mandanna, director Vamshi Paidipally and music composer Thaman S.

There will be five songs in Varisu, so far three Ranjithame, Thee Thalapathy, and Soul of Varisu have been released online.

The three songs have received positive reactions from fans and critics, with Ranjithame sung by Vijay being the most popular.

The remaining two tracks Vaa Thalaivaa sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Karthik along with Jimikki Ponnu sung by Anirudh Ravichander and Jonita Gandhi performed live yesterday.

Vijay also posted a video from the audio launch showcasing the thunderous crowd behind him with the caption "En Nenjil Kudiyirukkum", which means those who live in my heart.

Varisu will be the first Tamil movie directed by Vamshi Paidipally, known for his work in the Telugu film industry, and marks his first collaboration with Vijay

The movie will also mark the first on-screen pairing of Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, playing Vijay's love interest in Varisu.

This will be the actress's second Tamil film after Sultan in 2021. The movie will release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, with the Hindi rights acquired by T-series.

Varisu is produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations in association with PVP Cinema and has been described as a family drama and is similar to popular Vijay movies from the 90s.

In the movie, Vijay plays the fun-loving and carefree son of a business tycoon, who is forced to take over the family business after a series of unfortunate events.

Varisu has a great supporting cast that includes R Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Khushboo, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, and Sangeetha Krish.

The movie will be clashing with Ajith starrer Thuniva at the Tamil box office and Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya at the Telugu box office this Pongal.

Varisu will be htting theaters worldiwde on January 12, 2023.
