The first trailer for Vinneth Sreenivasan starrer 'Thankam' is here and it has all the makings of an intense crime drama

    The first trailer for the upcoming crime-drama movie Thankam has finally dropped and it is intense. The movie deals with two gold dealers whose partnership end when one of them is accused of gold smuggling.

    Vineeth Sreenivasan and Biju Menon play the lead. National Award winner Aparna Balamurali will also be playing a key role in the movie.

    The movie also marks the Malayalam debut of Bollywood actor Girish Kulkarni, who will be playing the role of a police officer from Mumbai, who is investigating the case.

    The movie is produced by actor Fahadh Faasil in association with Bhavana Studios. Initially, Fahadh was to star in the movie alongside Joju George but the project was delayed several times due to the Pandemic.

    The movie is written by Syam Pushkaran known for his work on critically acclaimed movies like Kumbalangi Nights (2019), Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), and Joji (2021).

    So there is a lot of hype surrounding the movie, and the positive reactions from fans to the trailer have only added to the anticipation.

    The cinematography for the movie is handled by Gautham Sankar, Bijibal is in charge of the music direction and Kiran Das will be editing the movie.

    The movie will be Vineeth Sreenivasan's first movie of 2023, the director/actor had a great year with his directorial venture 'Hridayam' becoming a massive success and going on to gross 69 crores and becoming the third highest-grossing movie of 2022.

    He followed this up by playing the lead role in the dark comedy Mukundan Unni Associates, which was a critical and commercial hit.

    Vineeth Sreenivasan has another three projects lined up for the year, they are Pookkaalam directed by Ganesh Raj, Kurukkan directed by Jayalal Divakaran and finally '2018' directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and is based on the 2018 flood in Kerala.

    As for Biju Menon, he will be sharing the screen with Suresh Gopi and Anushka Shetty in the upcoming action movie 'Ottakkomban' as well the sequel to his 2014 superhit 'Vellimoonga'.

    And Aparna Balamurali will be appearing in Dhoomam, Ula, Padmini, Mindiyum Paranjum, and 2018.

    Thankam will be hitting the big screen on January 26th.
