Thor: Love and Thunder - Check out these five Easter eggs from the first teaser of Thor's newest adventure

The first teaser for the fourth installment in the Thor franchise is finally out, so let's take a look at five easter eggs that you may have missed

Thor: Love and Thunder - Check out these five Easter eggs from the first teaser of Thor's newest adventure

The new teaser doesn't give away a lot of the plot other than what was already announced by the studio but like all Marvel trailers, it is filled with easter eggs and references to other movies and characters both from the MCU and outside it.

We do know that in his fourth adventure Thor will team up with Lady Thor played by Nataline Portman reprising her role as Jane Foster to take on the villain Gorr the God Butcher played by Christian Bale.

Gorr has a deep hatred for all gods and after the death of his son, obtains a powerful and ancient weapon called the All Black which he uses to slay his foes.

So lets take a look at five Easter eggs from the teaser

    Thor's Original Armor

As the teaser starts we see a young Thor running through the woods and slow aging and changing his armor through various stages of his life and the first open we see him dressed in his comic book accurate costume which thus far has not been shown in the MCU.

This original design from the '70s was just used as a template for Thor's armor in the movies. but now it seems that Thor did at one point wear it

    Olympus

While it was announced that the Greek god Zeus would have a cameo in the movie played by Russel Crow, now it seems that it won't just be a small cameo as we see Thor and his friends travel to Olympus the realm of the Greek gods, and while we don catch a glimpse of Zeus we do see his hand reach in the aired grab one of his signature lighting bolts.

Now that Marvel's Moon Knight series has introduced the Egyptian gods, it seems only fair that their Greek counterparts get their moment in the sun.

    Return to Skaar

The teaser shows Thor and Korg being dropped back in Skaar by the Guardians, this is possibly hinting that at one point in the movie Thor will leave the Gudrudians and go off to take on Gorr.

Why he didn't ask the Guardians for help could be that they are needed elsewhere or at this point in the movie, Thor is unaware of the danger Gorr presents.

    Fallen God

Next, we see Thor and Korg standing on top of a mountain, and before them is the corpse of a massive creature which in comparison makes the heroes look like ants.

now this fallen creature is in fact a god named Falligar the Behemoth, said to be extremely powerful and someone who Thor had met in his youth, this looks like the work of Gorr, and perhaps the moment Thor realizes how big the threat really is

    Thor's Chariot

We see Thor and his friends one Thor's magic chariot pulled by his two goats Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr who can travel between the nine realms with great speed and have the power of resurrection.

Another fun little easter egg is a neon cocktail sign on the front of the chariot which says cocktails and dreams which is from the 1988 Tom Cruise movie Cocktail , so it seems that Thor is a fan.

So that are five easter eggs from the first teaser of Thor: Love and Thunder, the movie is directed by Taika Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth , Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman , Christian Bale, and Chris Pratt .

The movie will hit theaters on July 8, 2022
