Urfi Javed defends Sushmita Sen after trolls call latter a gold digger: ‘She’s dating a man slightly richer than her’

The internet went berserk earlier this week when IPL founder Lalit Modi announced that he and actress Sushmita Sen are together. While some fans were pleasantly surprised, many others trolled the couple. Shockingly, a few even accused the former Miss Universe of being a ‘gold digger’. But Sushmita knows how to deal with haters very well. She took to her official social media handle to pen a note where she hit back by saying, “I dig deeper than Gold …and I’ve always (famously) preferred Diamonds!!😉😁❤️And yes I still buy them myself!!!” In the comment section below, many celebs including Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra came out in her support.

Well, Bigg Boss OTT star Urfi Javed has now slammed haters for calling Sushmita a gold digger. In a chat with Spotboye, she stated, “Sushmita Sen is already a rich woman. I don’t understand why people are calling her a Gold digger. She is dating a man who is slightly richer than her. People are trolling her for no reason and are calling her Gold digger which is so f**ked up. I don’t see this happening for a man out there. If a man starts dating women richer than him, nobody will make a witch hunt out of it, no one will say anything.”

She went on to explain, “They will not make him a monster whereas women are automatically labeled gold diggers.. as if Sushmita can’t earn for herself, as if she does not have money to buy whatever she wants. Trollers say anything. This is happening for the last so many years that women always become a soft target.”

Sushmita’s ex boyfriend Rohman Shawl also believes that people should be happy for the actress instead of spreading hate. He even added that if she has chosen someone, he is definitely worth it. We couldn’t agree more!
