    Thala Ajith starrrer Valimai which arrived in cinemas on Thursday, will be 14 minutes shorter in run time starting tomorrow. The actioner which received a thunderous welcome from fans at the box office is being cut short by the maker after two days of its theatrical run. The shorter version of Valimai will begin running in cinemas from Saturday onwards.

    The wait for Valimai has been long for fans and when the film released in cinemas on Thursday it was greeted by houseful theatres and fans dancing, hooting cheering and celebrating especially in Tamil Nadu. The reason behind portions of the film getting chopped by the makers is said to be the lengthy run time.

    Valimai current run time stands at 2 hours and 55 minutes. On the bright side a shorter run time could mean a few more shows of the film getting added across cinemas.

    The Ajith film had an exceptional opening day across cinemas in the country, especially in Tamil Nadu. On Day Valimai earned a whopping Rs. 76 crores in India and raked in an addition Rs. 20 crores from international markets making its worldwide today Rs. 96 crores despite a working day.

    Actress Huma Qureshi who stars in the film with Ajith also caught a 4 a.m. show of the film in Chennai on Thrusday with producer Boney Kapoor. They were greeted with loud cheers during this houseful first day first show.

    The film is expected to gain momentum over the weekend and can be guaranteed as a blockbuster already. Valimai has earned widespread appreciation for its bike stunts and dialogues. The film sees the Tamil star playing an IPS officer who is after a biker gang involved in theft and murder.
