Vijay Deverakonda promises a sequel to Liger; credits Karan Johar for bringing Baahubali to India

Even before Vijay Deverakonda had made his debut on Koffee With Karan 7, his name was said many times on the koffee couch. This was because Sara Ali Khan stated she wanted to date the actor and when Karan Johar claimed that he sees Janhvi Kapoor with him, Sara questioned her if they were dating. They soon started referring to him as cheese. Well, after Vijay’s episode premiered, rumors began doing the rounds suggesting that he was miffed with KJo, who is also co-producing his much awaited pan Indian film Liger .

In a chat with Bollywood Life when Vijay was asked about the same, he was confused and rubbished these reports. Talking about his relationship with KJo, the actor shared, “I respect him a lot. He's the one who got Baahubali to India, because he was there they were able to release it in that wide way. Because he's worked and made Dharma a banner, today I'm able to reach out to him with a script and say Karan sir yeh India ke liye banana chahte hain, humko help kariye. Aur unko achha laga aur unko main pasand hun, Arjun Reddy se he's been very warm with me and he's given us an opportunity to fulfill a dream of ours.”

After rejecting Karan Johar’s Bollywood film, Vijay Deverakonda approached him for Liger 

The Arjun Reddy star went on to share that when he approached Karan for Liger, the filmmaker liked the script and helped the team reach out to India. He stated, “So, I respect him a lot for what he's done and I'm very grateful and I really want this to work, I know it will work and I have told him that you'll be proud August 25th.” When asked if there will be a Liger 2 , Vijay replied, “There will be, most probably. Yeah.”

Well, even before Liger has released, we already know that the film will have a sequel. This is quite exciting! Also starring Ananya Panday and Baahubali star Ramya Krishnan in the lead, the sports drama has been helmed by Puri Jagannadh.
