'Vikram' director Lokesh Kanagaraj wants Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Suriya, and Karthi to face off in the final installment of the LCU

    Directorial Lokesh Kanakaraj has done something in Tamil cinema previously thought impossible, a cinematic universe that has some of the biggest stars in the country working together.

    The Lokesh Kannagraj Cinematic universe or LCU has a lot of hype surrounding it mostly due to the overwhelmingly positive reactions the first two entries in the franchise generated.

    The director who is currently filming the third installment in the franchise Thalapathy 67 , which will mark superstar Vijay's entry into the LCU, took the time to answer a few questions about the project and the future of the LCU.

    in a recent interview with Behindwoods, Lokesh Kanankaraj spoke about his dream planned for the final entry in his cinematic universe and he wants to see Kamal Haasan , Vijay, Suriya, and Karthi in the finale.

    He also went on to say that the finale is still a long way off and there were plenty of projects in between planned and a lot of more big names will be joining the LCU.

    Lokesh Kanakaraj has announced that apart from Thalapathy 67, there were three other movies that he has planned for the LCU.

    The franchise has grossed around 530 crores at the box office. Thalapathy 67 also marks the second collaboration between Lokesh and Vijay after 2021's Master.

    These are Kaithi 2 starring Karthi, Vikram 2 starring Kamaal Hassan, and finally, a spinoff of Vikram focusing on Rolex played by Suriya, who had a cameo at the end of the movie.

    So far a lot of big names have been associated with Thalapthy 67 like Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Kamal Haasan, Vikram, and Rakshit Shetty.

    There are also rumors that Malayalam actor Prithviraj has also signed on for the movie along with Tamil actor Arjun Sarja.

    The first teaser for the movie will be released soon and it will also reveal the name of the project. According to the report the teaser is around 60 seconds long and Vijay is said to play a 50-year-old gangster in the movie.

    Thalapathy 67 is expected to hit theaters in the latter half of 2023.
