Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, was much loved when it released in theatres in 2013. The coming-of-age romantic drama, which also featured Aditya Roy Kapur and an endearing Kalki Koechlin, narrated a tale that revolved around love and friendship. Now, more than a decade after scripting success at the box office, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is set to grace the silver screen once again.

Fans of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone can rejoice as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is set to re-release in theatres on January 3, 2025.

The film was backed by Dharma Productions and Karan Johar too took to social media to express his excitement over the announcement.

While stating that the film 'holds a special place in the heart of Dharma Productions', the filmmaker pointed out that Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewan has 'great music, stunning locations, some of our most loved actors, and a story that resonates across all generations'. “It's just the perfect film to start the new year,” the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director said. And we couldn’t agree more!

In his post, Karan Johar also said, “We can't wait to see how Gen Z feels about watching it as adults on the big screen while millennials join in, singing along and repeating all the dialogues before the actors do.”

The charming film narrates the tale of Bunny and Naina, who meet on a trip. While Bunny loves to travel, Naina aspires for a stable profession. Though love is in the air, they go their separate ways only to meet again at the wedding of Aditi, another friend.

Ranbir Kapoor starred in the lead role of Kabir 'Bunny' Thapar, while Deepika Padukone beautifully portrayed the role of Naina. Aditya Roy Kapur  and Kalki Koechlin make up the rest of the friends in the gang as Avinash and Aditi.
