5 Kareena Kapoor Films That Got Shelved!

Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the most sought after actresses of the industry. Since her debut in 2000, she has come a long way and done so many career-defining roles in her 19 years of career. She might be criticized sometimes for overacting, but there is no denying the fact that she has made some roles memorable in the hearts of the Indian cinema viewers.

But did you know that there are as many as 5 Kareena Kapoor films that have been shelved indefinitely? Yes, as unbelievable as it may sound, it is absolutely true. Here’s the list of those 5 movies:

1. Lajjo

Based on the work of Urdu writer, Ishmat Chugtai, Kareena Kapoor was supposed to team up with perfectionist Aamir Khan for this movie. The subject was Indo-Pak partition and its effects. Producer Bobby Bedi even announced the film, but it never got made due to some issues in the rights for the movie.

2. Bombay Samurai

Kareena Kapoor would have been seen in a fresh pairing with Farhan Akhtar had this movie been made. It has been getting postponed for quite some time and the makers say that the script is being reworked on.

3. Sadma remake

Sadma has been one of the most iconic film sof Indian cinema. There were talks that the film would be remade and Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor was approached for the lead role. In fact, Sridevi’s role was also being reworked on to suit Kareena. However, she said that she has backed out of it and now it has been shelved.

4. Badtameez Dil

Well, this one was supposed to be a mega project where Karan Johar would have been joining hands with Ekta Kapoor. The lead pair was Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor. But the film has been shelved indefinitely due to the creative differences between Karan and Ekta. Added to it, Kareena Kapoor also refused to do intimate scenes with Emraan Hashmi.

5. Shuddhi

This project has been announced since 2014, but is still stuck. The lead role was offered to Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. But there were roadblocks when first Hrithik decided to opt out of it. Then Kareena also left the movie. It was supposed to resume with the new cast of Varun Dhawan and alia Bhatt,  but the film is getting indefinitely delayed!
