A rated films not to be telecast on TV

In a bad news to the filmmakers, the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) has banned the telecast of all new A-rated films on TV. According to a spokesperson of the censor board, the CBFC decided to stop re-certifying A-rated films for TV in accordance with the provisions of Cinematography Act 1952. CBFC CEO Pankaja Thakur confirmed the news, saying, "We're no longer modifying and certifying films to make them suitable for TV viewers". She added, "This was not a part of the Cinematography Act. We would like it to be included in the Act, but that is up to Parliament". Earlier such films were allowed to be showed late night after many cuts making them suitable for TV audiences. Recently, The Dirty Picture was screened on TV after being cancelled first time but now such films will never reach the small screen.
