Aankhen sequel gets Anees Bazmee on board as director

1993 blockbusterAankhenis all set to have a sequel, titledAankhen Char, which will be produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. He has reportedly signed Anees Bazmee, the writer ofAankhen, to direct the movie that will begin shooting in August this year.

Nihalani confirmed the news,"Anees has writtenShola Aur Shabnam, Aazad, Andaaz and Andhiyanapart fromAankhenfor me and it would be great to have him direct the sequel. He has a flair for comedy. Also, let's not forget that Anees knows the pulse of the audience and ensures good box-office returns." Bazmee must be happy with the news as his sequel toNo Entrywill probably not happen this year. He also expressed his joy over the news, "This film will be a comedy of errors and will be funnier than Aankhen."

Pahlaj has planned totwist theAankhenscript that filmed Govinda in a double role, as this time around it will have both the heroes in double roles. He has also ensured that both heroes would get the opportunity to share enough screen space together as per the storyline etched. The cast of the sequel is still under wraps.
