Aashka Goradia feels like quitting TV, but here's why she doesn't

TV actor Aashka Goradia has been working in the television industry for the last 15 years. She confesses that she sometimes feels like quit the industry and do something different. “Sometimes you want to take a break or try something new. But then I realise that this career is something that I have put in so many years to build, and I don’t need to take a break from it,” says Aashka, who has done television shows such as Kkusum, Kahiin To Hoga, Mere Apne, Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Baal Veer.

Aashka adds that whenever she reaches a saturation point, she talks to herself. “I tell myself, ‘turn around and look at what you have built and why do you need to be saturated from something that you have made on your own’. I start feeling that this is my little empire and this is what I own, so I don’t have to go away from it.”

Although, Aashka has never taken a sabbatical from her acting career, Aashka says, she has mastered the art of getting in and out of her characters.

“After doing television for years, I can say that the moment we cross 100 episodes, we learn to switch on and switch off. From 9am, you are playing a particular character and then you switch after 9pm it’s part of your daily routine. So, our lives are always on a switch on and switch off mode,” she adds.
