When Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan married Aayush Sharma in November 2014, rumours were rife that Salman would launch him in Bollywood sooner or later. Now, three years after the wedding, fresh reports claim that Aayush might be planning a Bollywood debut opposite Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif.

A Mid Day report said Aayush Sharma has been finalised for Katrina Kaif’s next project. Titled Raat Baaki, the film will be directed by debutant Aditya Dhar and produced by Karan Johar, it added.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was earlier supposed to star in the film but the ban on Pakistani artistes in Bollywood post the Uri attacks, meant he could not be a part, and that put the project on the backburner, the report said.

Salman Khan reportedly plans to co-produce Raat Baaki.

Hindustan Times could not independently verify the reports.

Aayush had earlier told HT about his Bollywood ambitions. “I would definitely like to pursue a career in Bollywood, but on my own terms. It’s a misconception that he (Salman) is launching me.”

“Also, age is on my side and, God willing, I’d like to explore all opportunities given to me. For now, I’m training to become an actor,” he told the daily just a few days before his wedding with Arpita.

Arpita and Aayush, a businessman, got married in a grand ceremony which lasted for over a week in 2014.
