Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra - best known for writing and directing Rang De Basanti (2006) and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013) - hired Australian director Danny Baldwin for the filming of the high-octane night safari action sequence in his latest project Mirziya. It was shot in the presence of Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher in Mumbai. The action sequence went exactly as Rakeysh Omprakash wanted it to be.

The 51-year-old director has been working rigorously over his next big release and wanted to leave no margin for error when shooting for this particular sequence, which is considered to one of the most important scenes in the film. After about six months of research and after the consideration of many names, Mehra was able to zero in on Danny Baldwin. The Australian director has previously worked on a night safari sequence in Tom Cruise’s 'The Last Samurai'.

Harshvardhan Kapoor (Anil Kapoor’s son) along with Saiyami Kher will be launched in this movie, which is said to be Mehra’s first love story. The director insisted upon using ‘new faces’ as they would suit the script much better. The flick also features Sonam Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman.
