Actor Sayani Gupta calls Naseeruddin Shah the coolest man

Actor Sayani Gupta, who will be seen sharing screen space with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in their international project The Hungry, says it was a treat to work with him.

“Naseer sir is the coolest man I know. He was such a joy to be around on the set. The entire cast and crew of the film was exceptionally talented. The average age of the crew was 26 years but I’d say Naseeruddin sir was the youngest of us all. It was truly special to be acting with him,” says Sayani who plays Naseeruddin’s daughter in the film.

Sayani further shares that the fact they were all shooting and living in a fort in Kuchesar, Uttar Pradesh, they bonded like a family. Talking about Naseeruddin’s style and approach towards acting, she feels that she could find an instant connect and could identify with it easily.

“My basic foundation and understanding of acting as a craft has been hugely influenced by the man. I spent over three years in FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) trying to learn the craft but only towards the end of my term, once Naseer came to take classes, it all became clear. Almost like clouds moving away from the sun,” shares Sayani.

All praises for the veteran actor, she adds how she was amused to know the dedication Naseeruddin had as a teacher. “Even today, he remembers some of the exercises I used to do in the class. He is also a super fun human being. I love hanging out with him. I hope to work with him again soon!”
