Aditi Rao Hydari: People Would Tell Me That I Am Petite And I Should Wear Heals

Needless to say, Aditi Rao Hydari grabs all the eyeballs with her flawless style statement every time she walks down the red carpet. We’ve seen her donning ruffles, voluminous ball gowns, Anarkalis as well as sarees. Recently, the actress revealed that in the beginning of her career, she wouldn’t want to dress up ultra stylishly or wear make-up.

“When I first joined the industry, I didn't want to fall into the trap of dressing up”, Aditi revealed, adding, “I used to believe that people should like me for who I am. I didn't want to wear make-up. I always wanted to be au naturel. Then I went through a phase where I felt burdened. People would tell me that I am petite and I should wear heals. But I only wanted to roam around in sneakers and flats. So, there was a tug of war happening within me”.

Aditi continued, “But on the red carpet, when photographers use flash and take a photograph and you haven't dressed up, then you look like you have just gotten out of bed. Eventually, I just wanted to be myself and have fun. The day I did that and found a stylist, who complemented my sense of aesthetics, I was comfortable. Being on the red carpet is like getting ready for a fancy dress event. I realised that dressing up is a part of my job and if I want to enjoy my work, then I will have to embrace this aspect of the job as well”.

Indeed, celebrities have to inculcate several changes in their lifestyle to maintain their image as a public figure.
