Adnan Sami Making Acting Debut With ‘Afghan’

Indian singer-musician Adnan Sami will be making his big screen debut with a romantic musical-adventure film titled ‘Afghan’. While technically he has already made a debut through ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan' where he was a qawwal in a dargah singing 'Bhar do jholi meri', this will be his full-fledged acting debut. The movie will be released early next year.

'Afghan' will show Adnan as an Afghan musician who is forced to leave his country after which he comes to India. Talking about acting, Adnan shared that it is quite different than being in front of the camera when compared to shooting a music video. The music videos are about songs that are close to the heart so he can be himself. Now, he will have to play a character for the camera.

The movie will be directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao and will go on floors in August. “We belong to the royal family of King Amaah and still have palaces in Herat, Afghanistan. My great grandfather conquered Kafirastan and renamed it Nuristan. My grandfather was a provincial governor”. Adnan shared.
