Aishwarya Rai Bachchan To Play Surrogate Mother In Jasmine: Story of a Leased Womb?

It seems like that this will be a busy year for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actress is currently preparing for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Fanne Khan where she would be playing a diva singer. The movie unites her with her Taal co-star Anil Kapoor . Rajkummar Rao will be playing her love interest.

Then a few days ago, there were reports that she has been roped in for the remake of 1969 movie Raat aur Din where she would be reprising late actress Nargis Dutt’s role. The actress has reportedly demanded a whopping of Rs. 10 crore to star in the remake. And now the reports have emerged that Batti Gul Meter Chalu makers have approached the actress for their next movie titled Jasmine: Story of a Leased Womb.

According to reports, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress will be playing a surrogate mother in the flick. Talking about roping in Aishwarya for the movie, Shree Narayan Singh in an interview with Pinkvilla said, “Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is on our wish list BUT it's too early to reach any conclusion on this." Talking about the film, he said, "It is inspired by a real-life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn't want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point, she gets attached to the child and wants the child back."
