All is not well between Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and filmmaker Karan Johar. According to recent reports, Aishwarya is apparently miffed with her close friend Karan for skipping her father’s funeral. Krishnaraj Rai, Aishwarya’s father, passed away on March 18.

While most Bollywood celebrities were seen at the Bachchan residence to pay their last respects to Aish’s father, Karan, who shares a close bond with Aishwarya, and recently directed her in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, was conspicuous by his absence.

A source close to both Ash and KJo revealed to India.com that Ash wasn’t happy with the way she was kept away from the film’s promotional events. A report in India.com quoted the source as saying, “Post the success of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, KJo reached out to the actress expressing interest in doing another film with her, but she gave him a cold shoulder. They haven’t been on great terms with each other ever since.”

While this was speculated as the reason Karan kept away from Aishwarya’s father’s funeral, fresh reports say that it was not the case. According to reports, Karan had been busy with his kids Yash and Roohi, who are both in the ICU since the day they were born. The kids, born via surrogacy, were born premature.

“Both the kids have been in the ICU ever since they were born. They are supposed to come home any day now. Karan has been spending most of his free time at the hospital or making arrangements for the kids at home,” a source told the website.

Karan Johar has been on his toes ever since his kids arrived. The filmmaker, speaking at an event recently, said how he was both the mother and the father of his children. “I’m the mother of my children,” Karan said, and went on to add, “I’m more of the mother than the father of my children.”
