Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Father, Krishnaraj Rai Passes Away!

Krishnaraj Rai, father of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, passed away on March 18, 2017. He had been critical from past few days. Mr. Rai was admitted in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital and was reportedly fighting cancer.

The news about his demise was confirmed by Aishwarya’s spokesperson to indianexpress.com, “Yes, it is true that Mr Krishnaraj Rai has passed away.” The funeral took place yesterday at 8:30 pm at Ville Parle Seva Sansthan Shamshan Bhoomi.

Earlier as well, Aishwarya’s spokesperson had confirmed about Krishnaraj’s ill health, stating, “All I can tell you right now is that yes, Krishnaraj Rai, Aishwarya Rai’s father is hospitalised and is in the ICU. It is a delicate situation and can’t tell you anything more.” According to doctors, Aishwarya’s father was admitted to the Bandra-based hospital over 20 days back and required a ventilator and intensive care support as he was too critical. Moreover, he was shifted to the ICU a little over last week.

He is survived by his wife Vrinda Rai, son Aditya Rai and daughter Aishwarya.
