Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ Witnesses Sluggish Start At Box Office

The two trailers of Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ intrigued the movie buffs and made many of them choose the action thriller film over Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The film looked promising and reports suggested that the actor, who also helmed the venture, hired the best crew for the movie. But unfortunately, it failed to pull audiences into the theatre.

According to reports, the movie witnessed a low opening during the morning shows. Looks like the plan of cashing on the Diwali weekend might not work for the makers. ‘Shivaay’ grossed around Rs. 10 crore on its opening day and witnessed slow business in the metro cities. However, in the coming days, it is expected to gain momentum.

On the other hand, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ collected over Rs. 14 crore on its first day. The multi-starrer film has clearly outgunned Devgn’s dream project on the first day at the box office. However, it would be too early to declare one of them as a winner.
