    Akshay Kumar Donates Rs. 1 Crore For Chennai Flood Victims

    After Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, who donated Rs. 1 crore and Rs. 25 lakhs respectively, Akshay Kumar has also extended help for the victims of Chennai floods. The Special 26 actor has donated Rs. 1 crore for those in need. The amount will go to Bhoomika Trust, which is helping with food preparation and distribution in the city.

    It is said that when Akshay Kumar saw the visuals of Chennai’s condition, without a second thought, he decided to help the ones in need. Unaware of the procedure, Akshay called director Priyadarshan, who asked him to consult Suhasini Maniratnam. Maniratnam has been actively involved in flood relief work.

    As of now, Akshay is busy with the shoot for his upcoming flick Kaththi. The Hindi remake of the Tamil action drama film is being directed by A.R. Murugadoss. Meanwhile, his forthcoming flick, Airlift, which also stars Nimrat Kaur is all set to hit the theatres on January 22.
