Akshay Kumar: ‘I Only Work To Make My Family Happy And My Fans Fulfilled’

Akshay Kumar has established himself in the industry as a diverse and versatile actor. He has gained appreciation from fans for his action films since the 90s, comedy films like the ‘Housefull’ series and ‘OMG- Oh My God’, and romantic films including ‘Namastey London’ and ‘Dhadkan’. The actor recently opened up about his choice of films and also spoke about his upcoming projects.

Akshay shared, “It’s simple. The days have passed where I felt the need to prove my worth through my success. Now, I make films that mean something to me. They may be emotional, carry a social message, or they could just be a laughter riot with good-hearted humour for the family”. He added, “Fear is fuel for the soul. If we don’t fear our actions, we will get lazy in our endeavours. Versatile roles are what keep me on my toes, and the day I get complacent with my work, it will be the end of me”.

Talking about his upcoming projects which include ‘Rustom’ and the next ‘Houseful’ instalment, the 48-year-old actor said, “Right now, I am still so excited because of the opportunities that are being given to me. I almost can’t wait for what my directors have in store for me next, as it keeps me on my toes all the time”. He further went on to say, “I only work to make my family happy and my fans fulfilled”. Akshay feels that films that touch the hearts of people can last forever.
