Akshay Kumar leaves no stone unturned to fit to his roles and we’re sure if he gets to play K. Vijay Kumar, he would do it pitch-perfect. Recently, the most-disciplined actor of Bollywood expressed his desire to portray the Indian Police Service officer, who is credited with killing Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. During the launch ceremony of a book written by Vijay himself and titled ‘Veerappan - Chasing the Brigand’ in Mumbai, the 49-year-old actor stated that he would love to play the police officer on screen.

“Both Veerappan and Vijay Kumar's characters are really interesting but I would love to play the role of Vijay Kumar because the whole planning has been done by him and how brilliantly he executed the entire operation”, revealed Akshay when asked which role among the two he would like to portray. The Aitraaz actor has played some really tough roles in the past. He played a naval officer K.M. Nanavati in ‘Rustom’, a soldier in ‘Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’ and a RAW agent in ‘Naam Shabana’. He also bagged the National Film Award in the Best Actor category for ‘Rustom’.

Vijay headed the Tamil Nadu Special Task Force that executed Veerappan in 2004. This marked the end of the outlaw's decades of terror on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border. On a related note, Akshay will be seen in ‘Toilet - Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Padman’ and ‘Rajanikant's 2.O’ this year.
