This Actress To Play Akshay Kumar’s Wife In Padman?

While announcing his upcoming projects of the year, actor Akshay Kumar revealed that he will turn into a Padman soon. The actor who will soon start filming on his upcoming venture, Padman, is all set to break the stereotypes with his role of a Padman who talks about Menstruation and sanitary napkins in a country where menstruation is still a taboo. The latest update about the movie is that the makers have apparently zeroed in on the female actress who will play Akshay’s wife in the film.

Rumours suggested that actresses Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte were in the race of the female lead and Sonam lost it. If reports are to be believed, Radhika will play Akshay’s wife in the movie. However, Sonam is also in the film. As per a source, “She plays a nagging wife who is embarrassed by her husband’s concern with her menstrual cycles. She threatens to leave him if he doesn’t get over his obsession with her and other women’s periods. When he doesn’t, she leaves him, but don’t worry, the light-hearted film has a happy ending”.

Twinkle Khanna turns producer with this film and will be bankrolling it.  Helmed by R Balki, the story is about a man who started making sanitary napkins at low cost for the women in villages. The film will be Radhika’s first film with Akshay.
