After delivering two blockbuster movies, ‘ Sultan ’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, with Salman Khan , Ali Abbas Zafar is all set to join hands with the superstar once again. Ali has been approached to direct Salman’s forthcoming movie ‘ Bharat ’, which is a remake of the 2014 South Korean film 'Ode To My Father'. The director said that offer for the film came directly from Salman.

In an interview with PTI, Ali said, "That film came to me from Salman himself. He gave me the film and said he really likes it and asked me to watch it. I saw it and really liked it. (But) You can't make the film exactly how it is in the original. The socio-political scenario affects your story and the character. But I liked the basic crux of the film. Salman said after 'Tiger...', you do this.”

‘Ode to My Father’ was directed by Yoon Je-kyoon and centres around the promise made by a young boy during the chaos of the Korean War . Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri has bought the movie’s rights. He Hindi remake will be set during India- Pakistan partition. Ali did not disclose the basic plot of the remake.

When inquired from Ali whether anyone else apart from Salman has been approached for the flick, he said that it is in early stage. "We will begin March onwards. I want to sleep for a month. We are at the elementary stage," Zafar said.
