    Alia Bhatt To Play Sanjay-Pooja's Daughter In Sadak Sequel?

    Alia Bhatt may have just landed herself the most important role in her career. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is reportedly planning a sequel to his 1991 film, Sadak, that starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. Reports also claim that Pooja’s sister Alia is likely to feature in the new movie.

    According to a DNA report, a sequel to the film is in the pipeline and the movie will focus on Alia’s character - who might play Sanjay-Pooja’s daughter from the original. Sanjay will be on a rescue mission for his daughter, it added.

    Hindustan Times could not independently verify the report.

    Sadak was the second highest grosser of 1991 and is remembered mainly for Sadashiv Amrapurkar’s performance as the brothel owner - Maharani.

    Mahesh’s Arth (1982) is being remade in Pakistan. He stopped directing films after the National Award-winning Zakhm (1999), though his last released film as a director was the box office dud Kartoos (1999).

    Alia, meanwhile, is taking a break from work after her latest release, Badrinath ki Dulhaniya opposite Varun Dhawan.

    Sanjay Dutt is currently working on his next film, Bhoomi, and is also helping with his biopic by Rajkumar Hirani.
