The teaser opens with a dhoti-clad Arjun, deep in a puja ritual, complete with his rudraksh, vibhuti, aarti, et al. The next shot shows a happy guy riding a scooter laden with vegetables on a busy street. We are introduced to his lady love (Pooja Hegde) soon, but the romance is cut short when Arjun is shown threatening someone over the phone.

Arjun has had a superb run at the box office with his last two films, Sarrainodu (2016) and S/O Satyamurthy (2015), turning out to be huge hits.

It may be recalled here that the teaser, along with that of another popular Telugu actor and Arjun’s uncle, Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu, has been in news for totally unexpected reasons: For the number of ‘dislikes’ they have garnered.

As on Wednesday morning, Duvvada Jagannadham had been disliked 110,670 times while the figure for the Pawan Kalyan’s film stood at 28,086.

The reason for this trend is that the fans of the two stars have always been at loggerheads with each other, particularly after Arjun reportedly refused a request by Pawan’s fans at an event last year. Arjun has been the target of attacks by the fans of his uncle for really no fault of his.

At an awards function in 2016, fans of the actor-politician had requested Arjun to chant ‘Power Star’ (sobriquet his fans use for Pawan) which Arjun refused saying “Cheppanu brother (I won’t say it)”, reports Times of India.
