Amala Paul-AL Vijay split: Fabricated rumours on remarriage baseless, says film...

Director Vijay and actor Amala Paul, who were married for two years, ended their relationship very recently. The reason for their split, despite reports that there was a breach of trust between the couple, still remains a mystery. While reports surfaced that Vijay is considering remarriage, this has upset the filmmaker. Vijay in a statement rubbishes the claims.

“To my dismay I found that in certain section of media there were some fabricated rumours on my remarriage. This is baseless. This sort of unverified reporting disturbs me a lot. Media had been largely instrumental in my growth, and I feel I have the moral right to ask them to avoid such rumours. My commitment to the audience and the media is films of substance, and I will strive hard to deliver it,” read Vijay’s statement.

Known for working together in films such as Deiva Thirumagal and Thaandavam, Vijay and Amala fell in love in 2011. It was in 2014, that they made their relationship public and subsequently tied the knot. Vijay is currently busy with the post-production work of Vanamagan, a forest-based thriller with Jayam Ravi in the lead.
