Amish Tripathi: ‘Shuddhi has absolutely nothing to do with my book’

Amish Tripathi, the author of Immortals of Meluha, recently confirmed that Karan Johar’s Shuddhi isn’t based on his successful Shiva trilogy. He said, “Shuddhi has absolutely nothing to do with my book. It’s an independent story. The director of the film Karan (Malhotra) clarified this earlier and I am clarifying it once again”.

He also clarified that a movie is going to be made on his novel but that is not Shuddhi. He stated, “The rights to my books belong solely to Karan Johar’s production company and they are making an adaptation out of it. There’s no way anyone else can use it”. When Tripathi was asked about the cast of the film, he said, “Although I am quite involved in the film, it’s only fair that the production house selects the cast”.

The poster of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Shivaay, which recently came out has linked with his Amish Tripathi’s novels. Talking of the uncanny similarity between Ajay Devgn’s first look in the film and his books from the shiva trilogy, the author said, “I don’t think Ajay’s Shivaay has anything to do with my books. I really like his intense look in the film”.
