King of Indian cinema Amitabh Bachchan has once again taken a new initiative which aims at welfare of the people of our country. The megastar has launched ‘Darwaza Band’ campaign.

The aim of the campaign is to end open defecation. The veteran star was recently quoted as saying, , "I thank the organisers for having me here. It's a great honour. The inspiration to be a part of this initiative, as we all know, is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Regarding the initiative, the Piku star further added, "A lot of discussion took place considering the name of the campaign. While some were okay with the name, others weren't. The meaning of 'Darwaza Band' is that those who defecate in the open can have a place where they can do it behind closed doors. And the second interpretation is that the doors are also closed for those who indulge in wrongdoings."

The 74-year-old is leading this initiative and was accompanied by Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Narendra Singh Tomar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
