    Actor Anil Kapoor will next be seen in director Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming project titled ‘Mumbai Saga’ but the role he will reportedly be playing is taking the centre stage. Anil Kapoor’s role in Mumbai Saga will have combined spirit of late Balasaheb Thackeray, Bhai Thakur and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. A source linked to the project’s development said, "Besides Balasaheb, Anil's character also borrows elements from Vasai-Virar strongman Bhai Thakur and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar. Sanjay is working closely with Hussain and Milap and is providing valuable inputs to build the character."

    Sanjay has given vague impression about Anil’s character in the film saying, "It's too early to talk about the character since the film is still being written. But yes, it is inspired by some real politicians who were instrumental in converting Bombay to Mumbai and changing the city's landscape." Other developments on the same are yet not disclosed. The director has given several hits like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Acid Factory, Shootout at Wadala and few more. Bal Thackeray was previously portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in Sarkar and Sarkar Raj.
