From ‘Tapori’ roles to comedy genre, Anil Kapoor has left the audiences intrigued with every kind of role he has essayed on the big screen. The Dil Dhadakne Do actor, who’s Welcome Back is releasing today, admits to have played roles with shades of grey. But at the same time, he wants to arch over the dark side and play absolutely evil characters in his future projects.

DNA quoted the Race actor as saying, “I have never been offered a completely black (sic), psychotic role like Sanjay Dutt in Agneepath — a role with no explanation or justification — someone so evil people will shudder in fear. I want to play something like Christoph Waltz did in Inglourious Basterds (as Hans Landa) or Leonardo DiCaprio (as slave owner Calvin Candie) did in Django Unchained. I love the passive agressive violence and cunning in their characters”.

The Slumdog Millionaire star further said that he will do negative roles, only if they convince him. “It has to excite me. The producer, director and the script are important considerations as well. I don’t think I’ve been offered such roles before because I’ve played very possitive characters so far. My role in Ram Lakhan is still remembered! My lovable, entertaining, family man image makes people expect certain things of me”, he said.
