Ankita Lokhande Not A Part Of Sanjay Dutt Starrer ‘Torbaaz’

TV star Ankita Lokhande’s Bollywood debut has been in the news for quite some time now. After trying hard for a long period of time in Bollywood, the actress finally bagged a role in Kangana’s Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi’. She would be playing the role of Jhalkaribai, who was an important aide of Rani Laxmibai.

Before bagging Kanagan’s film, reports of her making her debut with Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Bhoomi’ were making rounds, where she was supposed to play Sanjay’s daughter. However, later it was reported that Ankita was ousted from the film and the role eventually went to Aditi Rao Hydari. And recently, there were reports that she has been signed by director Girish Malik, popular for making National Award winning film ‘Jal’ in 2013, for his next film 'Torbaaz' which stars Sanjay Dutt in the lead.

We were happy that Ankita has finally landed a role with Sanjay after being rejected twice in his films until we heard that she has never been a part of the film. When inquired from Girish about her presence in the film, he said, “We are currently doing our pre-production. I don't know Ankita, and apart from Sanjay Dutt, no one else has been signed or even approached."

'Torbaaz' is an action thriller which is set in Afghanistan. The story of the film revolves around child suicide bombers who are trained and brainwashed that killing will provide them happiness in the afterlife. The movie is expected to start rolling in December.
